Justine Apple was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and at the age of seventeen emigrated to Toronto, Canada. She grew up in a musical environment; both her parents studied piano and her father also played violin. From an early age, she enjoyed listening to Classical music and to the songs of ABBA, Elton John, and Billy Joel.
Justine studied the piano as a child. In her twenties, deeply moved by the film “Shine”, she began composing her own music. Her compositions are influenced by ABBA, New Age artists Yanni and Enya, and American composer Philip Glass.
The poignant melodies in Justine’s debut album “Passages” immediately draw the listeners inside themselves, connecting them with personal moments of sorrow, contemplation, and empowerment.
In addition to composing, Justine is a visual artist and an aspiring photographer. Her abstract paintings are inspired by Kandinsky, Chagall, and Miro. Justine has exhibited her artwork at various galleries and outdoor exhibitions in downtown Toronto.
On a more personal note, Justine is spiritually driven and enjoys attending retreats and workshops. She especially enjoys connecting with people who share her appreciation and awareness of the workings of the karmic universe.
